The Ministry of Culture and Communication redefines its approach to photography.

The association de préfiguration for the Etablissement Public (EPIC) Jeu de Paume was set up in May 2004. It was formed by fusing three associations: the Galerie Nationale du Jeu de Paume, the Centre national de la photographie and Patrimoine Photographique.

The role of Jeu de Paume is to promote photography and mechanical or electronic images by taking an open, transversal approach in terms both of chronology (from the 19th to the 21st century) and of photographic practices and disciplines (photography, film, video, installation, etc.). More...
