My work starts intuitively, automatically, where I try to begin painting with no particular image, colors, composition or other formal elements in mind, just knowing that I will In some way try to combine a few organic shapes. An analytical process of revision and refinement then takes place, where I seek to find something amidst the chaos on the canvas. I struggle to force myself into areas where I don’t know what will happen, and I must trust that I will be able to find a way out via a path I have not traveled before. Maybe I will discover something valuable: a new kind of powerful and beautiful way to make a painting. My work is not an art history lesson, nor an illustration about the world. It's not a quasi-scientific theory, nor a sociological proof. For me, my work is about the process of painting and qualities of paint application, color sensation, spatial relationships, character of forms, the nature of perception, power and poetry.
